Issued by a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) once you're admitted.
CAQ
CAQ (for Québec)
Quebec Acceptance Certificate, required alongside the study permit for Québec institutions.
GIC / Proof of funds
Proof of sufficient funds
Demonstrating sufficient funds to cover living costs (outside Québec) and tuition — amount set by IRCC — with 6 months of bank statements showing the source of funds (2026 IRCC requirements).
PAL
Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)
Required since 2024 for most applicants; Master's and PhD students at public institutions have been exempt since January 2026.
